Aztec camera/ Mick Jones Good morning britain promo video.
Jocks got a vote in parochia Ten long years and hes still got her Paying tax and and doing stir Worry about it later. And the wind blows hot and the wind blows cold But it blows us good so weve been told Musics food til the art-biz folds Let them all eat culture.
Chorus: The past is steeped in shame, But tomorrows fair game, For a life thats fit for living Good morning britain.
Twenty years and a loaded gun Funerals, fear and the war aint won Paddys just a figure of fun It lightens up the danger. And a corporal sneers at a catholic boy And he eyes his gun like a rich mans toy Hes killing more than celtic joy Death is not a stranger.
Taffys times gonna come one day Its a loud sweet voice and it wont give way A house is not a holiday Your sons are leaving home neil. In the hills and the valleys and far away You can hear the song of democracy The echo of eternity With a rak-a-rak-a feel.
Chorus
From the tyne to where to the thames does flow My english brothers and sisters know Its not a case of where you go Its race and creed and colour. From the police cell to the deep dark grave On the undergrounds just a stop away Dont be too black, dont be too gay Just get a little duller.
But in this green and pleasant land, Where I make my home, I make my stand Make it cool just to be a man, A uniforms a traitor. Love is international And if you stand or if you fall, Just let them know you gave your all, Worry about it later.

Walk out to winter, swear I'll be there. Chill will wake you, high and dry You'll wonder why
We met in the summer and walked 'til the fall And breathless we talked, it was tongues. Despite what they'll say, it wasn't youth, we hit the truth
Faces of Strummer that fell from your wall And was left were they hung So sweet and bitter, they're what we found So drink them down and
Chorus Walk out to winter, swear I'll be there. Chill will wake you, high and dry You'll wonder why. Walk out to winter, swear I'll be there. Chance is buried just below the blinding snow.
You burn in the breadline and ribbons and all So walk to winter You won't be late, you always wait This generation, the walk to wall But I'm not angry, get your gear Get out of here and

Summer in the city where the air is still A baby being born to the overkill Who cares what people say We walk down loves motorway
Ambition and love wearing boxing gloves And singing hearts and flowers
Chorus: (but) somewhere in my heart * (only in some choruss) There is a star that shines for you Silver splits the blue Love will see it through And somewhere in my heart There is the will to set you free All youve got to be is true
A star above the city in the northern chill A baby being born to the overkill No say no place to go A t.v. and a radio
Amibition and love wearing boxing gloves And singing hearts and flowers
Chorus
But who could heal Whats never been as one And our hearts have been torn Since the day we were born Just like anyone
From westwood to hollywood The one thing thats understood Is that you cant buy time But you can sell your soul And the closest thing to heaven is to rock and roll.. Import.flv (5.2 MB)
The band's line-up changed numerous times in its first few years. The constant member has been guitarist / vocalist / singer-songwriter Roddy Frame. Founding members included Campbell Owens (bass) and Dave Mulholland (drums). Craig Gannon was a member from 1983 to 1984. Guitarist Malcolm Ross (formerly of Josef K and Orange Juice) joined in 1984, and appeared on the Knife album.
Although generally considered to be born out of the post-punk movement, Aztec Camera's music is mostly acoustic oriented and might be better described as indie guitar music. The band's first UK 7" single was released by Glasgow-based indie label Postcard Records in March 1981, and contained the songs "Just Like Gold" and "We Could Send Letters". An acoustic version of the latter song appeared on the influential C81 compilation cassette, released by NME in early 1981. A second single, "Mattress Of Wire", was also the last Postcard Records release before the group signed for fellow independent record label, Rough Trade. US releases were on Sire Records.
Aztec Camera's debut album, High Land, Hard Rain, was released in April 1983. The album was successful, gathering significant critical acclaim for its well-crafted, multi-layered pop. The band went on to release a total of six albums, although most of these were essentially written and played by Frame. The albums included Knife (1984), Love (1987), Stray (1990), Dreamland (1993) and Frestonia (1995).
After the release of Aztec Camera's sixth album, Frestonia, Frame finally decided to record under his own name, and left the major record label, WEA.
Popular songs by Aztec Camera include "Oblivious", "Still On Fire", "Walk Out to Winter", "Somewhere in My Heart", and "Good Morning Britain" (a duet with former The Clash guitarist Mick Jones).
A 'Best of' collection was released in 1999. Import.flv (9.3 MB)
